In February of this year we held our second Members’ Assembly, this time in full high resolution digital splendour! We’re building this event as an annual summit of engagement and activism for members which supports appraisal of organisational activity, facilitates voting for Board members and National Representatives and discussion and voting on key priorities to take forward over the next year.
Through a post-event survey and focus group, we know that 80% of members who attended understood more about what is happening at WCS, while 93% felt their views are valued by the organisation.
A Who Cares? Scotland board member had this to say:
“My word [to describe the event] was ‘connected’ – it was my first experience of the Member’s Assembly as a board member, I got a real sense of connection, whether people had been there for years or not, it felt like a really positive experience… being there for the first time, I got a sense of connection and belonging.
[my groupmate] has been a member for 5 years, and described it to me like a family – there’s always lots of hugs and love when members come together and get to see each other. It was good to hear that my first experience was ‘real’, and matched what previous national events have been like.”
To see all the beautiful, affirming and constructively critical feedback from members who attended, we have released an impact report!

We’re really keen to build a bigger and even better Members’ Assembly in 2022 alongside our National Representatives. If you have further feedback on our Members’ Assembly 2021, ideas for future development or would like to be involved in the planning of next year’s event, please email our National Representative body – nrb@whocaresscotland.org
