A keen fundraiser, Craig has always got involved in the charitable activities of his work, Wylie and Bisset. When the organisation announced its partnership with Who Cares? Scotland, Craig knew he wanted to do the marathon to raise funds for the organisation.
Craig Paton, 29, said: “I first heard about Who Cares? Scotland through Wylie and Bisset. I was already planning on doing the marathon for charity and when I found out about the work the Who Cares? Scotland does, I knew it was the perfect place to raise awareness and money for.
“People have been so giving. I’m really thankful for everyone who has donated. I’ve already smashed my fundraising goal and anything on top of that is just fantastic!
“I hope the money raised allows Who Cares? Scotland to continue with its vital work and grow the Care Experienced community. If it helps at least one Care Experienced person feel included and part of the Who Cares? Scotland family that would be incredible.”
Louise Hunter, Chief Executive at Who Cares? Scotland, said: “We’re so grateful to Craig for doing the Edinburgh Marathon to raise money for us. We hope he is now taking a well deserved rest with his feet up after his amazing accomplishment.
“It’s thanks to people like him we can fight for a lifetime of equality, respect and love for all Care Experienced people in Scotland.”
