5 Nations 1 Voice Q&A with Commissioners
We kicked off our 6th international Care Day celebrations with a live Q&A with the Commissioners/Ombudsman from the UK and Ireland. The event was hosted by Tayler Walters, a Care Experienced young person from Wales, and the panel asking the questions was made up of Care Experienced young people from across the 5 Nations. The session was attended by over 150 people.
A Care Experienced attendee described the event as ‘an opportunity to feel heard’.

‘Being the Light’ – Shetland’s Festival of Care
Care Day saw the start of a 5 day festival of care in Shetland, with over 300 people registered, 21 online workshops, live theatre performances and light projections across Lerwick. Find out more here.
South Lanarkshire Care Day Celebrations
South Lanarkshire held Care Day celebrations too and had members Yoga-ing, crafting and shaping Corporate Parents Plans.
They brought the day to a close with a live music set which everyone was welcome to join for a Care Day dance off!
BECOME’s Care Day Link-Up
BECOME’s Care Day Link-Up was held in the evening and offered an online space for Care Experienced young people from across the UK and Ireland to connect and celebrate.
“Objects” Podcast
Care Day also saw the release of our podcast series “Objects” where across seven episodes, Charlotte Armitage is joined by Care Experienced guests (including some familiar faces) to explore some of the most important moments of their lives through the objects that define them. Listen Here
#CareDay21 Selfie Challenge
The amount of love and support that was shown for Care Day and the Care Experienced community was lovely as loads got involved in the#CareDay21 Selfie Challenge. #CareDay21 was actually trending on Twitter!
